Lake Tahoe Snow Report

Lake Tahoe resorts have received 43 inches of snow at upper mountain levels from the last round of storms, with more on the way. We normally get 283 inches of snow each season, and are currently at 85% of normal levels.

Over the next few days, another 4-5 inches is expected, with winter storm warnings in effect. We will have a few great snow days before another system moves in on the weekend of the 21^st.

Forecasts over Christmas and the end of December are showing additional storms throughout December.

Currently, snow levels at the different resorts vary based on snow making capabilities prior to the storms.

Palisades Tahoe

Palisades Tahoe averages 400 inches of snow each season.  Just over the last 7 days, they received 43 inches of new snow, with 102 inches for the season so far. They have between 25-56 inches of packed powder, with 106 of 270 runs open or 33%. Additionally, 23 of their 36 lifts are operating currently.

Northstar California

Northstar has received 23 inches of snow in the last 48 hours and has 46 inches of machine groomed snow.  This season, they have received 77 inches so far and are expecting another 4 inches of snow over Monday and Tuesday. They have 44 of their 100 runs open currently, or 44%. Of 20 lifts total, 9 are currently operating.

Boreal Mountain Resort

Currently, the base depth at Boreal is 45 inches of machine groomed snow, with 8 inches falling over the last few days. So far this season, they have received 78 inches of snow. Of their 34 runs, 31 are open or 88% and 5 of the 7 lifts are currently operating.

Sugar Bowl Resort

As of today, Sugar Bowl has 76 inches of powder, with 17 inches falling over the last 48 hours.  Of the 105 runs on the mountain, they have 73% open, or 77. They also have the majority of their 12 lifts operating with only one yet to open.

We had a strong 3^rd quarter of sales activity, with sales slowing as we moved into the ski season. This 2024/2025 ski season looks like it will be an epic one and we expect sales activity to pick up again as we move into the first quarter of 2025.
