Best Apres Ski Lake Tahoe
The holidays at Lake Tahoe brought a huge snow storm that gave the ski areas a great base. During January, conditions warmed up to feel more like spring skiing.
We are expecting a bit of snow around February 16, 2022 and more in the third week of February 2022. These systems won't be bringing record breaking snowfall, but after a dry January, the new snow will be a welcome event.
There are many places around Truckee and North Lake Tahoe to enjoy Happy Hour and Apres Ski with family and friends. Whether you are in the mood for appetizers, or a regular meal, these local restaurants and pubs are the place to be. Many also provide live music on set days during the week.
Cottonwoods - Friday Live Music
10142 Rue Hilltop, Truckee
Located on the hill overlooking downtown Truckee, Cottonwoods is steeped in Sierra ski history. Their beautiful restaurant and full service bar create a sense of warmth and comfort. During warmer days, they also have a deck overlooking Truckee.
Cottonwoods is one of the area's oldest ski lodges and was hand built from salvaged railroad ties in 1928. Enjoy their lively music scene each Friday night, full bar and extensive menu.
Music Village at Northstar - Saturdays
5001 Northstar Dr, Truckee
Each Saturday, the Village at Northstar features live music through the end of March. After a day of skiing on the Tahoe local's favorite mountain (Northstar), guests can grab a drink from the Cabana Bar, cozy up to the fire pit, or even ice skate!
Enjoy live music each Saturday between 2-5 p.m. in the heart of The Village. This is a perfect apres ski area that the entire family can enjoy.
Garwoods on the Lake - Music Fridays
5000 North Lake Blvd, Carnelian Bay
Every Friday night, Garwoods features an Apres Ski Party following Happy Hour in the Gar Woods bar. Enjoy excellent lakefront dining in the restaurant, or the food & drink specials in the bar. Fridays from 6:30 – 9:30 pm, they also present live music. Win raffle prizes that include a snowboard at each event throughout the winter.
Guests can also win other great prizes from local retailers and ski resorts. Receive a raffle ticket for each item you order- the more you drink, the more you eat, the more you win!! Their famous Wet Woody is a frozen Mai Tai and signature drink. Of course, drink responsibly with a designated driver or take Uber.
KT Base Bar - Palisades Tahoe
Palisades Tahoe (formerly Squaw Valley) 1960 Squaw Valley Road, Squaw Valley
Located at the base of world-renowned KT-22, the KT Base Bar features a lively outdoor après scene at Palisades Tahoe. In 2021, the Squaw Valley Ski Resort changed their name to Palisades Tahoe to better reflect their core values.
After a day of skiing, soak up the sun while enjoying a refreshing beverage. Enjoy views of skiers and the slopes of the famous KT-22 terrain. Palisades Tahoe is also where Jonny Mosely, Julia Mancuso, and Shane McKonkey got their start.
Cornice Cantina at Palisades Tahoe
Enjoy casual healthy Mexican cuisine, and a kids menu that will delight the entire family. Their large sundeck offers breathtaking views of the slopes. Every Friday and Saturday night, they also feature dancing.
Each Wednesday night, enjoy great music from local artists, with drink specials. Their kitchen is also open until midnight in case you like to enjoy a late-night meal.
Sunnyside Restaurant, Tahoe City
Sunnyside is a restaurant on the West Shore that also offers lakefront dining, and an outdoor deck for warmer days. Their indoor bar has a huge fireplace and guests can enjoy mouthwatering appetizers like fried zucchini, which everyone loves. Choose from their full menu or sip refreshing cocktails by the fire.
